"El Corazon Del Paso"

After visiting the Lincon Memorial Park and taking pictures of all the beautiful murals the have, I  couldnt decide which one was my favorite. This park had many murals to look at such as Martin Luther king, Cesar chavez, The Virgen Mary, Pancho Villa, and othe cultural symbols that represent Chicanos. However there was one that called my attention the most. Which was the the big heart mural called "El Corazon Del Paso". This mural stood out a lot to me because of the colors behind the heart along with purpule pyramids and mountains in the back with the star on the mountains. It also has the blue sky with a bright sun that shows our sunny weather. I could tell right away this mural was representing the Mexican american culture. One of the main reasons is becasue of the pyramids of the Mayas in the back and the big purple mountains in the back which represent our beautiful city. As for the big heart painted in the center of the mural I believe this is the heart of every Mexican American representing this park because this park has a lot of murals each one representing a part of El Paso and having a meaning behind it. This one specifically represnets El Paso's heart in the way our population in this city is mainly Mexican American culture. I was able to understand most of those murals have a diffrent meaning in its own way and they all represent the Mexican American culture. What I got out of those murals is that they are all cominimg two cultures together. For example the heart one has the Maya pyramids that represent the Mexican culture and the mountains with a star that represent Texas. I believe this mural is mainly represnting our city of El Paso with its bright colors and by adding the sun which represents sun city for our hot weather. I really enjoyed visiting this park because of all the beautiful murals it had. Eventhough I had been to this park when I was younger I never took the time to see what those murals really were or if they had any type of meaning to the muralists. It was a great experience visiting this park again and taking a closer look to find the real meaning to them and to the viewers.
